From the Bar

It's magic when some afternoons just find their shape on their own.
We walked into Enzo Bistro & Wine Bar without a plan — sister restaurant to Ragazza, not my first visit. We sat at the bar. That's where the real lives. Ask for Dominic or/and Tru when you go — and you should go. These are folks who'll stand you up right, and onto new things...like Italian Margaritas with Tajin on the rim!!

That's the thing about Kansas City in May: it exhales winter. Or is still trying. This particular First Friday lands with some extra weight — the historic Boone Theater in 18th & Vine is officially reopening May 1st after years of dormancy, which is exactly the kind of news this district has been waiting on. The Jazz District is getting its footing back, one building at a time.

First Fridays in the Crossroads have been doing their thing for over two decades now — galleries open late, the streets fill up with a wide range of people. KC keeps it local, keeps it walkable, keeps it real.

Get out of the house.

I’ll see you at the bar ☾

One Mascara. Six Shades. Zero Smudge.

If most mascara’s fail to hit the mark… you need PrimeLash.

It’s a tubing mascara made for 50+ lashes, so it lifts and defines even the tiniest hairs… without flakes, clumps, or raccoon eyes.

Choose your mood: soft brown, classic black, jewel tones like Emerald, and statement shades like Burgundy plus Mulberry.

The best part? It wears all day, then rinses off with warm water. No tugging, no drama.

Ready to find your shade and get 3x longer lashes?

Last Call 🍸

Tequila and amaretto have no business being in the same glass together — that's what many a reasonable person would tell you. Citrus, almond liqueur, agave spirit. It pust in work. It absolutely does, and the fact that it took this long for the combination to go mainstream says more about our collective stubbornness than anything else.

But lemme put you onto something: the Tajín rim.

Not salt. Not sugar. Tajín — that Mexican chili-lime powder that walks the line between heat and acid like it owns the street. You pick up the glass and before the drink even hits your lips, your nose gets the story. Citrus. Pepper. A little warning. Then the amaretto comes in smooth and the tequila reminds you this isn't your mama's margarita.

The Italian Margarita with a Tajín rim is what happens when two culinary cultures stop being polite and start being honest. Italy brought the sweetness. Mexico brought the heat. America just handed them a shaker and got out of the way.

Order one this weekend. Somewhere with a decent back bar and a bartender who's not annoyed by the request, like Enzo's. Drink it slow enough to taste the layers. Fast enough to order another.

Stay sharp, KC
